Chairlates Classes


Want to take up pilates or an exercise class but you’re looking for something gentle, and perhaps you are not confident about getting on and off the floor? Then this class is for you!

Gentle chair-based exercises following the same format as our other pilates classes, but with the option of holding onto a chair for balance with the standing exercises, and completing the other exercises sitting in a chair rather than having to get down onto the floor.

45 minutes of exercise, followed by tea, coffee, biscuits, and a chat! Ideal if you are looking to increase the amount of exercise you complete in a safe environment, as all our classes are taken by experienced physiotherapists. This means exercises are tailored to help improve your strength, mobility, and confidence. We will also have time at the end of each class to talk about ideas and advice to help with falls prevention, as well as ways to help manage any aches and pains you may be experiencing from conditions such as osteoarthritis.

These classes are suitable for people with pre-existing injuries and medical conditions, as physiotherapy knowledge and experience is used to adapt exercises appropriately. It is advisable to have a 1:1 session prior to starting the class to have time to discuss medical history and go through adaptations to exercises if you have concerns about whether you will manage the class.
